問:三輪體空是哪三輪呢?

大安法師答:三輪體空是從佈施波羅蜜來說。三輪是哪三輪呢?就是我要佈施一個東西,有能佈施的我和所佈施的對方,中間有佈施之物,這叫三輪。

那一般人佈施,他就有一個我的概念:你看我很慈悲啊,我要給你好處啊,你看你多窮啊,然後我給了你很有價值的東西,佈施了還:唉,這個很值錢哦,你不要怎麼,怎麼……”並且佈施完了還想:他一定會說我好話,給我寫篇表揚稿。

他到寺院佈施什麼,也會說:怎麼功德碑上沒有我的名字啊?甚至說:他佈施一萬塊錢,那不行,我要第一,我要佈施兩萬塊錢,壓住他呀。這些,他都是著相,著相佈施。


真正具有般若空慧的人,他三輪沒有能佈施的我、沒有所佈施的對方,中間沒有佈施之物,這三輪都空的。這一空,這種空性才是功德,不著相。不著相佈施,他的功德就等同虛空法界,那就無量無邊了,是這樣理解三輪體空。

你在這三輪當中要體察它的空性,這個空性就是般若,畢竟空,無所有。所以佛說發心要度一切眾生,但是不要著度眾生之相,無一眾生可度。沒有能度的我,沒有所度的眾生,中間沒有度眾生的法,這也是三輪體空。

把嫉妒心化為隨喜心 - 索達吉堪布

看到別人快樂,心中應當真心隨喜,替他高興。如果實在生不起隨喜,自己也要懂得克制,千萬不要因嫉妒而發惡願。

嫉妒,是一種極其普遍、又殺傷力極大的心態。若對超過自己的人無法忍受、心生憂惱,這就是嫉妒

女人嫉妒別人的年輕、美貌,男人嫉妒別人的才華、財富、權勢,兒童嫉妒別人能擁有夢寐以求的玩具------林林總總,無所不嫉。

在《雜譬喻經》中,就講了一則嫉妒的公案:


從前有個婆羅門,他的妻子沒有生育,小妾卻生了一個男孩。妻子非常嫉妒,趁人不注意,用小針刺入小孩頭頂,孩子不久就死了。

小妾悲痛欲絶。後來知道是妻子所為,於是受持八關齋戒,以此功德回向,發誓要報仇。

小妾七日後命終,於七八世中轉生為妻子的孩子,容貌端正、聰明伶俐,但都是小時候夭折。妻子悲痛不已,比小妾喪子時哭得更厲害。

後來有一僧人,是阿羅漢的化現,告訴了她前因後果。妻子才恍然大悟,遂向僧人求戒。僧人讓她第二日到寺院受戒。次日,她到去寺院的途中,小妾又化為毒蛇,阻擋她的道路。僧人嚴厲地作了呵斥,令二人解怨釋仇,懺悔了往昔的怨結。

古今中外這方面的公案非常多,由於嫉妒不是有形有相的東西,故很難控制,一旦它不小心生起,只能任其擺佈。

莎士比亞筆下的奧賽羅,因為懷疑妻子不忠,妒火中燒,殺了妻子與假想的情敵後,自己也同歸於盡;《三國演義》中,羽扇綸巾,談笑間,檣櫓灰飛煙滅的周公瑾,因嫉妒諸葛亮的才華,在發出既生瑜,何生亮的感慨後,鬱悶而死。

他們的死,引起了後人很多哀嘆。但又有幾人能拍着胸脯說,自己身上沒有奧賽羅與周瑜的影子呢?

所以,人與人之間,最好不要有嫉妒,看到別人快樂,心中應當真心隨喜,替他高興。如果實在生不起隨喜,自己也要懂得克制,千萬不要因嫉妒而發惡願:今生我比不上他,來世我要變成惡魔專門害他。

發心若是這樣的話,那一切都完了!在嫉妒的戰場上,只有失敗,沒有戰利品可得。嫉妒心重的人,就算暫時害得了別人,但終究還是害了自己。

你知道佛教臘八的由來嗎?

臘八節又謂之「佛成道節」,相傳這一天就是佛祖釋迦牟尼成道之日,是佛教盛大的節日之一。據今二千五百多年以前,釋迦牟尼在成佛以前,棄王位出家,經過了六年的苦修苦行,乃至日食一麻一麥,漸漸身體變得極度瘦弱。

尼連河邊有兩名牧牛女子,一名難陀,一名波羅,素日里看見釋迦牟尼如此虔誠苦修,心中甚是感動敬佩。這時見釋迦牟尼佛餓得幾欲昏倒,忙選擇肥壯的母牛,入河洗浴乾淨,擠取乳汁,蒸成乳糜,盛了滿碗,捧到他面前,禮拜供養。

釋迦牟尼佛得供養後,恢復了體力,得以繼續修行。之後,他來到了今名菩提伽耶的地方,在一株高大茂郁的畢波羅樹(又譯菩提樹)下金剛座上,端坐思惟,發下誓願:「我如果不圓成正等正覺的佛果,寧可碎此身,終不起此座!」

如此,釋迦牟尼在菩提樹下趺坐禪修,時至臘月初七日。這天晚上,天朗氣清,惠風和暢。釋迦牟尼默坐金剛座上,示現種種禪定境界,遍觀十方無量世界和過去世、現世、未來一切事情,洞見三界因果。臘月初八日凌晨,明星出現天上,他豁然大悟,得無上大道,成為圓滿正等正覺的佛陀。

從此,臘月初八,本師釋迦牟尼佛的成道之日,便成為佛教的一個盛大、隆重的紀念日,臘八節即由此而來。

臘八節是我們佛教的傳統節日,廣大的佛教徒會在這一天紀念釋迦牟尼佛覺悟成道。橫山寺繼承佛教優良傳統,弘揚佛教慈悲濟世的精神,將傳統佛教思想以最契合現代社會的方式正確地傳達給每一個人。

七彩海菜沙拉 (素食谱 )

聖嚴法師:素食者若能善用營養食譜,配合自己的身體狀況來調理,就不會有營養不良、體力不佳的狀況發生。

【四季禪食】禪食精進餐:七彩海菜沙拉

材料:
小番茄4
五彩乾海菜(寒天、裙帶菜,紅海藻、紅毛苔、黑海苔)8公克
紅蘿蔔60公克
白蘿蔔50公克
紅色、綠色生菜各2
熟全麥輪麩1
天然海鹽少許
葵花子2小匙

沙拉醬:
糙米醋4小匙
麻油4小匙
薑汁1小匙

做法:
1.
小番茄與五彩乾海菜的寒天、裙帶菜、紅海藻,用水清洗後,瀝乾水分;紅蘿蔔、白蘿蔔分別切絲,用少許海鹽調和,靜置5分鐘,擠乾水分;葵花子用烤箱烤香,備用。
2.沙拉醬醬料調和後,加入五彩海菜與紅、白蘿蔔絲,一起攪拌。
3.先將紅、綠色生菜分別鋪於盤底,再鋪上炸好的全麥麵麩,與紅、白蘿蔔絲,以及五彩海菜、小蕃茄。
4.最後以葵花子點綴即可。

健康小叮嚀:
當參禪不得力,方法用不上時,可以偶爾吃一點油炸食物,提升腦部活躍的能量。但是吃油炸食物容易讓人心浮氣燥,所以要搭配白蘿蔔一起食用,才不會肝火旺盛,影響禪坐。
五彩乾海菜可自由搭配,海菜是大海送給人類的珍貴禮物,營養十分豐富,每餐吃23大匙即足夠。
全麥麵麩是小麥粉製成,是素食者蛋白質來源。

Lord Buddha’s 15 Life Qualities to Become a Great Human Being (Karaniya Metta Sutta)

One day during the raining season disciples of Lord Buddha went to the deep forest to do meditation in search for the supreme enlightenment.  There were dryads (gods) who resides on trees of the forest and found it difficult when they find these visitors in the forest. So these dryads start troubling the Bhikku. The disciples who was not able to concentrate their mind to achieve their target went back to Lord Buddha and ask for his advice.Buddha taught them a sutta to chant at forest. The sutta is known as karaniya metta sutta. This Sutra teaches how to do Metta meditation and how to behave well to achieve our ultimate goals in life. The meaning of this karaniya metta sutta is valid for every living being.

In the first part of karaniya metta sutta lord Buddha shows 15 good virtues you should develop to achieve the ultimate goal of life. In the second part of the karaniya metta sutta it shows how you should spread kindness and do  proper Metta meditation.

What are the qualities of a great human being
§  Talented: you need to be skillful and posses the talents that are necessary to achieve your goals
§  Straight: you should be honest and continent with the things that you do, the words you speak and the thoughts you think. One day lord Buddha asked from one of his disciple ‘Rahula why do you need a mirror”?The disciple answered “my lord it is to look at your features “Then Lord Buddha told ‘Rahula as similar to, you looking at mirror to rig up the defects in your features; your actions, your thoughts and your words need to be critique. If your action, words or thoughts give you or others a suffering you should not practice them’
§  More straight: you actions need to be like an open book. You need to be a single hearted. You should do what you tell and should tell what you do. You can be straight if your actions are only honorable.
§  Obedient: Take good advice from wise people and practice good deeds.
§  Soft hearted: Strong enough to help others in their difficulties. Speak kind words and be generous
§  Humble: do not have unnecessary pride over your talent or possessions. Humble enough to see faults in you and to make them correct. Do not compare yourself with others. Treat everybody the same.
§  Content: Happy with what you have. This will give you a peaceful life. You will not get burden with unnecessary material things in your life. More you cling in to provisions more you lose and more you suffer. A content life bring you happiness.
§  Easily sustenance: live a simple life. When your sustenance is easy you safe lots of your energy and time to develop yourself.
§  Free from unnecessary work: a good practice of life is to manage your work. This will allow you to free your time for things important in life. Proper managing your work schedule is necessary for a successful life. If you are always momentous it will carry away your mindfulness and bring an occupied mind. You can be forgetful on many of your important things if you are not mindful. To have a peaceful mind you need to be talent enough to be free from unnecessary work.
§  Easy beingness: you should practice to live a simple life. Do not take unnecessary burden in to your head. Keep the country’s economic, social or political problems to the relevant authorities. Do your responsibilities and duties to the maximum capacity of you and leave it behind. Do not try to control everything happens around you.
§  Be self-possessed (virtuous): The actions you do with your five faculties need to be to be righteous. The five faculties namely eyes, ears, nose, mouth, body and mind need to be well behaved. When you are well behaved, yourself and people around you will trust, love and honor you.
§  Rise to an occasion: when you have the wisdom to take the rightful action at right occasion you will be protected from many troubles in life. You will develop a set of skills in life to deal successfully with challenges in life.
§  Non Belligerent: the virtue of non-aggressiveness is very much important quality of life. You will become a friendly person at working place, at home or with your love one. When you are non-belligerent you will create a fresh and happy environment around you.
§  Not seizing to individuals or groups of people: unnecessary attachments for single person or a group of people will create suffering in life. You should be kind and generous to people who do good and bad to you. This create many friend and remove enemies from life.
§  Not get blamed by wise people: in our life we meet wise people who has many experience about good and bad deed of people. If you get blamed by such wise people, which means your conduct is not acceptable. Therefore you need to always conduct well and not get blamed by wise people.
If you practice above 15 virtues in your life as lord Buddha taught, you can become a great human being.

The Nature of Things Two monks were washing their food bowls in the river when they noticed a scorpion that was drowning. One monk immediately scooped it up and set it upon the bank. In the process he was stung. He went back to washing his bowl and again the scorpion fell in. The monk saved the scorpion and was again stung. The other monk asked him, "Friend, why do you continue to save the scorpion when you know it's nature is to sting?" "Because," the monk replied, "to save it is my nature."

8 Things to Remove from Life

1. Excuses
We don’t blame others for our life. We are fully responsible for our own life and situation. We hold the power to significantly improve our life. When you make up excuses, you are lying to yourself, which will hold you back from fulfilling your dreams.

2. Perfectionism
Trying to achieve perfection is a waste of time. Instead of worrying about the mistakes that you have made, simply focus on trying to better yourself with small steps. No one is perfect, but anyone can make the decision to be a better person.

3. Fear
Many people keep quiet during discussions when they want to say something; they avoid taking risks; and they always think about the worst-case scenario. This fearful attitude will stop you from achieving your full potential, so remove it from your life and be brave instead; speak up, voice your thoughts and actively chase your dreams.

4. The Need To Control Everything
You can’t control everything and trying to do so is a futile task. It will only make you feel stressed, upset and frustrated. Instead of trying to control everything around you, make an effort to care less about the things you can’t control and focus on the things that you can.

5. A Fixed Mindset
Lots of people have a fixed mindset and they make no effort to learn more or change their perception. This makes them hard to become more successful as their mindset is stuck in the past. Try to embrace knowledge and learning, and remember that you can always become wiser.

6. The Desire For Overnight Success
Some people believe that the majority of successful people became successful overnight or by chance. While luck can certainly play its part, you can’t rely on luck to become successful. In reality, success takes time and dedication, so you should plan for the future as well as the day ahead of you.

7. Toxic People
Remove the negative and pessimistic people from your life and replace them with optimistic and supportive people who genuinely care about you. You will find that you will be more motivated and happier.

8. The Need To Say Yes
We sometimes struggle to say no to the people around us. We end up wasting time doing things that we don’t want to do and other people might start to take advantage of us. Be brave and say no when you want to; only you can make the priorities of your life.

在日常生活中如何安心?

曾經有一位居士問我:「現代人的生活節奏都很快,在日常生活裡很難攝心,該怎麼安心呢?」

我說:「還是可以安,快有快的安法,慢有慢的安法。」

慢的安心,安於每一個分解動作都清清楚楚。快的安心,就要知道自己的心是什麼狀態,知道自己是不是正在做不該做的事、正在想不該想的念頭。

有些人無法自己安心,總要說一些讓別人痛苦的話,讓自己有所發洩。但如果對方不願意當你的垃圾桶,馬上又把情緒丟回來給你,你發洩不成還得雙倍回收,那就很痛苦了。


所以我們要將煩惱「消歸自心」,也就是將自己的煩惱從自己的內心消除。這該如何做到呢?一是慈悲自己,一是慈悲他人,把心從當前的境界收回來,不要一直和它抵抗、敵對,也不要受它的影響,如此就能安心。

驯服牛般的调伏心念【阿含经漫画故事】




本则漫画参考《杂阿含第1169经》、《相应部六处篇六处相应第205经》。
心念和牛一样都需要调伏,如同禅宗讲的牧牛,是属于根律仪的修行,对意门的不良动机(贪、嗔、痴)警觉防护,让心念变得稳定而专注。
参考经文:

如是我闻
一时。佛住拘睒弥国瞿师罗园
尔时。世尊告诸比丘。若有比丘.比丘尼。眼色识因缘生。若欲.若贪.若昵.若念.若决定着处。于彼诸心善自防护。所以者何。此等皆是恐畏之道。有碍.有难。此恶人所依。非善人所依。是故应自防护。耳.鼻.舌.身.意亦复如是。譬如田夫有好田苗。其守田者懒惰放逸。栏牛啖食。愚痴凡夫亦复如是。六触入处。乃至放逸亦复如是
若好田苗。其守田者心不放逸。栏牛不暴。设复入田。尽驱令出。所谓若心.若意.若识。多闻圣弟子于五欲功德善自摄护。尽心令灭。若好田苗。其守护田者不自放逸。栏牛入境。左手牵鼻。右手执杖。遍身捶打。驱出其田。诸比丘。于意云何。彼牛遭苦痛已。从村至宅。从宅至村。复当如前过食田苗不

Q:迴向與一般的祝福有何不同?

A:祝福的原意是求神賜福,現今意指希望對方得到福分。迴向則是分享,簡單來說,就是把自己得到的福分分享出去,因此兩者概念不盡相同,但可以連用。


對佛教徒來說,迴向更深一層的意義,在於藉由利他來成就自己的一種修持,例如,將布施的功德迴向給一切眾生,這是利他,當我們生起「與所有人分享」這一念心的時候,就是在練習放捨。迴向眾生、讓眾生歡喜,是一份慈悲;斷我執、離煩惱,這不就是智慧了嗎?因此迴向看似簡單,但在修行上來說,卻是核心中的核心。

《令佛歡喜的方法》 達真堪布

眾生歡喜,佛就歡喜;眾生安樂,佛就安樂。若是你真的想讓佛歡喜,想報答佛恩,唯一的方法、唯一的選擇,就是讓眾生歡喜,利益眾生。佛把眾生都視為最親的親人,佛唯一的願望就是利益眾生。為了能利益這些父母眾生,佛可以上刀山、下火海,從不顧惜自己的身體和性命。佛救度與悲憫眾生的慈願已經達到了無以復加、無法言喻的程度。他把眾生視為親人,為了利益一切眾生而不顧一切,甘願自己轉生於餓鬼道、地獄道等惡趣。
 
既然如此,我們若是去傷害眾生,讓眾生痛苦,佛還能歡喜、快樂嗎?這是對佛恩將仇報。對佛來說,這是最大的不敬。若是你傷害眾生、讓眾生痛苦,即使你在佛前裝模作樣磕一千、一萬個大頭,甚至將身體、受用、善根統統都供養給佛陀,也報答不了佛恩。就好比一個人周身燃火,即使給他世間一切的欲樂,如好吃的、好穿的、金銀財寶等,這個人的內心也不可能生起絲毫的歡樂。

同樣的道理,如果你傷害眾生、讓眾生痛苦,無論你供養佛什麼東西,做任何事情,磕再多頭,佛也不可能歡喜。若是你真想供佛,就應該去利益身邊的眾生,讓他們高興。對佛來說,這是最大的恭敬、供養。

所以,眾生對我不好、傷害我,但是為了報答佛恩,為了讓佛歡喜,我寧願真正地修安忍、善待眾生,因為這是唯一讓佛歡喜、報答佛恩的方法。

到底誰在布施誰?

有一位很貧窮的老婆婆,蜷縮在一間破草棚下,衣著破爛,重病在身。一天,佛陀的十大弟子之一大迦葉,來到了她的棚前。

老婆婆看到竟然有人來找自己,甚為驚訝,連忙起身問:「大師,找我有什麼事嗎?」

大迦葉說:「我是尊貴的世尊門下修行之人,請求您的布施。」老婆婆的眼神寫滿了疑惑、驚訝:「讓我布施你?」

「我得了重病,每個人都不理我了,我快死了!我哪有什麼東西布施給你呢?」說著,老婆婆禁不住落下淚來:「我就是想給,也沒東西好布施啊。」

大迦葉再次懇求,老婆婆難過不已,滿面愁容:「你作為修行人,我有東西的話,真的很想布施給你啊。可是怎麼辦,我眼前有的,只是別人不要的東西。」

老婆婆環顧四周,看了又看,說:「我只有這又酸又臭的米湯,哎!真是丟臉呀!」

大迦葉懇切地說:「施主,我還是希望你能布施你的米湯給我。」老婆婆用不可思議的眼神望著大迦葉,問道:「你真的要啊?」 大迦葉肯定地點點頭。

老婆婆雙手顫巍巍地端起自己的破瓦罐,把半罐散發著酸臭味的米湯,緩緩倒進了大迦葉的缽中。

大迦葉雙手捧起缽,慢慢地喝下所有的米湯。老婆婆難以置信地看著......

大迦葉看著老婆婆,說:「謝謝施主!有幫助別人之心的人,在精神上是富足的人。」

「有羞恥之心,敢於反省自己的人,就已經是一個求道的人了!」

「現在你已經具備懺悔心和布施心,佛會保佑你的。」老婆婆百感交集,淚流滿面,再三叩謝大迦葉......

誰在布施誰呢?
人人皆可成為布施者,人人也都在被布施。

All Sentient Beings Love Their Lives

The Buddha told Śāriputra, “Know that the karma of killing sentient beings has grave consequences. Once you and I visited the city of Pāṭaliputra and there we met Devapatī, the daughter of an elder. She gave birth to a boy who was comely beyond comparison, just as the goddess-daughter Red Lotus Flower is unequaled. This mother loved her son very much. Holding the boy in her arms, she came to the place where I was. She said to me, ‘World-Honored One, My son is so lovely that he is like a celestial boy. My love for him is a billion times my love for myself.’

“Then I told her, ‘Good woman, know that ordinary beings love their own lives, and that their self-love is like an ocean swallowing all streams, never satiated. You say how much you love your son. What is your proof?’”
That woman answered, “World-Honored One, I love my son. Even if a fire is burning my body, I will never abandon my son.” To transform that woman, the World-Honored One, using His spiritual power, manifested four yakṣas [i.e. demonic ghosts who eat human flesh], who approached from the four directions, each holding a mountain of fire. When the fires were still far away, the woman used her body and her clothes to shield her son. When the fires drew near, she raised her hands and used her son to shield her face from the fire.

The Buddha asked the woman, “You say that you love your son. Why are you using your son to block the fire and save yourself?” Then the woman answered, “World-Honored One, to save myself, I would not save this son.” The Buddha used His spiritual power to give coolness to both mother and son. She then activated the unsurpassed bodhi mind [i.e. Bodhicitta]. The Buddha told that woman, “If you love yourself and your son, why would you kill and make others kill?”
